Webnote is a tool for taking notes on your computer. It allows
you to quickly write something down during a meeting, class, or
any other time that you have a web browser
available.
You start by creating a workspace and creating notes in the
workspace. You can save your workspace at any time and return
to them from the same computer or any other computer. You can
also share your notes with others by providing the workspace
name (or url) to a friend.

There’s a known bug with how Safari encodes notes when saving. If the text on your notes is in ASCII (most English characters), then there are no problems. However, if you’re notes contains non-English characters, Safari encodes them in an unreadable format for Firefox/IE users. I’m working on a fix, but it’s complicated because I want to maintain compatibility with existing notes.
Update: This should now be fixed. Notify me if you have any problems.

I’ve added some documentation for Webnote. Hopefully that will make it easier for people to make rich workspaces like this one.

I tried to make Webnote work in Konqueror but failed due to incomplete XmlHttpRequest support. I also moved some of the mouse handling code around. You may notice a small speed increase.

If someone edits a workspace while you have it open, you will now get a note that pops up to tell you of the change. As always, if anything appears to be broken, please email me.

Small improvement with loading previous notes. I no longer have a Mac for testing so if I’ve broken loading in Safari, please let me know.
