Education as an instrument of the state,  instilling quiescence, imparting one particular world-view  convenient to maintaining the position of those in power.

&lt;li&gt;they'll be using computers at the next school
&lt;li&gt;they'll need to be able to use computers when they get jobs
&lt;li&gt;it  motivates learning across the curriculum
 ( kids like computers )

&lt;li&gt; computers have no place in school - spend the money on books and better teacher training
